The Nurse Aide training prepares students to work in long term care nursing facilities, hospitals, and with additional training, home health care. Nurse Aides work primarily in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and home health agencies. This program will offer clinical experience in a long term care facilities.
Topics include resident's rights, communication, safety, observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis is on effective interaction with members of the health care team.
This program includes:

- Section (III): Basic Nursing Skills
- Section (IV): Restorative Services
- Section (V): Mental Health and Social Service Needs
- Section (VI): Social Skills

Nurse Aide Training - Admissions Requirements
A Nurse Aide is an integral part of effective care for residents in Lon term Care. Preparing Nurses assistants to provide basic care to such resident is the first steps on the career Ladder. Central Texas Nurse Nurse work, Inc plays an important role in the Community by providing Opportunities for Career Advancement beginning with this Nurse Aide Course.
A criminal background check is required before starting the CNA program.

Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read and write English or Spanish
- GED
- High School Diploma
Course Outline
This training program is designed to provide entry-level employment training and can be the foundation for a career in health care. Preparation for nursing Assistant to achieve a level of knowledge, skill and abilities essential to provide basic care to residents in long-term care facilities.
Topics include residents' right, communication, safety observation, reporting and assisting residents in maintaining basic comfort and safety. Emphasis is on effective interaction with members of the health care team.
This program includes:
- Infection control
- Safety
- Basic Physical
- Psychological Needs related to Aging
- Patient Care Skills and the Principle of Nutrition
The program consists of 60 contact hours in the classroom and/ laboratory practice and demonstration and 40 hours contact of resident care in the long-term care facility. Both courses must be met successfully to apply to take the registry exam. The last 8 hours are set for the student to take the nurse Aide Training Competency Exam, a requirement for placement upon the Nurse Aide registry (date and time to be arranged with the instructor)
