Patient Care Technology Training

 

patient careThe Patient Care Technician Program consists of both classroom and externship in a hands-on environment experience. This program prepares students for an entry level position as a patient care technician under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Students will learn technical skills necessary to perform personal care to complex patients' implementation of selected portions care plans, including respiratory services, Electrocardiogram (EKG) or (ECG) and phlebotomy under the supervision of a registered nurse. Students will be trained to perform such clinical skills as blood collection, cauterization, recording vital signs, performing other tasks related to patient care. The program comprises four essential skills. i.e. Basic Patient care Skills, EKG, Phlebotomy and advanced Nursing Assistant Skills. Patient Care Technicians can be employed by Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Doctors' Offices, Laboratory Establishments, and Clinics.
